Action Against COVID-19

“Coronavirus emergency” is a project funded by Secours Populaire Français (SPF) and implemented in partnership with DPNA as a response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The project has been implemented in the following areas: Saida, Tripoli, Old Saida, Rihan

The project’s main objective/goals: Enhance the targeted communities’ ability to fight the Coronavirus economic and wellbeing impact In order to achieve these goals the following activities with the following targets took place: Distribution of 590 food kits and 500 hygiene kits at Saida, Tripoli, Old Saida, Rihan.

After the spread of Corona Virus globally, DPNA was able to build an emergency team ready to respond for the COVID-19 crisis when it hits Lebanon.
On February 21st, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) confirmed the first COVID-19 case.
At that time, the emergency response team was aiding the Syrian refugees in providing the basic WaSH needs. On the other hand, another priority emerged in the local community.

This community was already suffering from an economic crisis and with on-going anti-government protests thus increasing the struggle in the society. Youth played an vital role in reducing the impact of the mentioned critical situation.

Preventive Measures

  • Our main priority was protecting our human resources through following WHO standards and recommendation.
  • The staff were divided into field and working from home team whereby the tasks and responsibilities were distributed accordingly.
  • DPNA office is being sanitized on a regular basis to avoid any contamination.
  • All DPNA members, visitors and partners were taking safety measures against corona upon arrival to DPNA. Body temperature and effective hand washing were the primary procedures to be followed.
  • For the field visits, all the necessary equipment and materials that must be worn on field were provided. This includes: Face masks, goggles, gowns, gloves, sanitizers, bleach, etc…
