The Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mohammed Al-Saudi, inspected the area of reconstruction-Ein El-Hilweh in Saida and was briefed on the progress of the project for the rehabilitation of rainwater and sanitation, which is being implemented by the Association for Human and Environmental Development with funding from the German Cooperation Agency, under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Water and the municipality of Saida, in cooperation with UNICEF and the project consultant.
Mr. Saudi was joined by the director of the Human and Environmental Development Association, Mr. Fadlalah Hassouna, the secretary of the Sidon NGO Association, Mr. Majid Hamto, the chairman of the Sidon Municipality's Committee on Works and Planning, engineer Mohammed Al-Baba, project engineer Maamoun Hassouna, the head of the municipal health department, Dr. Marwan Saad Al-Masri, the head of the municipal emergency teams, Mr. Ahmed Qassim, and a number of supervisors.
The tour was preceded by a meeting between Mr. Saudi and the principal of the High School, Mr. Mostafa Al-Zaatari, and Mrs. Zahra Azzam. After that, he met with volunteers from the Association for Human Development and the Environment in the high school courtyard. After that, he toured some of the buildings and shops that were being renovated in al-Mahalla.
In a speech to the volunteers, which was preceded by a welcome from Mr. Hamato, Mr. Saudi said:
“The five-year journey from work in the reconstruction zone in Sidon has started, having received the patronage of the city's deputies and all the political, economic, social, spiritual, cultural and security realities, as well as the blessing of the community of local institutions in Sidon.
The work has begun in the area because we seek to restore buildings, rehabilitate shelters, disseminate street lighting, and organize landfill sites and other demands of our people in the area.
Thanks to UNICEF for responding in correcting the sanitation line, securing shelter pumps, and job opportunities for a number of young men and women.
We also thank the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which has built a section of the reconstruction zone in the Metro-Metro-Real Estate area, and we hope that its officials will complete the illumination of the infrastructure.
We also hope that UNICEF will complete the correction of sanitation systems on various streets of reconstruction. We should cooperate with the Southern Lebanon Water Corporation to resolve the water problems in the Ain al-Hilweh area.
These projects and achievements cannot be achieved without the great effort of the Human and Environmental Development Association and the entire community of volunteers present to serve our people.”
تفقد رئيس بلدية صيدا المهندس محمد السعودي منطقة التعمير – عين الحلوة في صيدا حيث إطلع على سير العمل في مشروع إعادة تأهيل مياه صرف الأمطار والصرف الصحي، الذي يتم تنفيذه من قبل جمعية التنمية للإنسان والبيئة بتمويل من وكالة التعاون الألمانية وذلك بإشراف وزارة الطاقة والمياه وبلدية صيدا وبالتعاون مع اليونيسيف واستشاري المشروع .
ورافق المهندس السعودي في الجولة مدير جمعية التنمية للإنسان والبيئة، السيد فضل الله حسونة وأمين سر تجمع المؤسسات الأهلية في صيدا السيد ماجد حمتو ورئيس لجنة الأشغال والتخطيط في مجلس بلدية صيدا المهندس محمد البابا ومهندس المشروع مأمون حسونة ورئيس الدائرة الصحية في البلدية الدكتور مروان سعد المصري ورئيس فرق الطوارىء البلدية السيد أحمد قاسم وعدد من المشرفين.
وسبق الجولة لقاء للمهندس السعودي مع مديرة ثانوية الأستاذ مصطفى الزعتري السيدة زهرة عزام حيث إطلع منها على التحضيرات لإنطلاقة العام الدراسي . ثم إلتقى في باحة الثانوية المتطوعين في تنفيذ المشروع من قبل جنعية التنمية للإنسان والبيئة ، بعد ذلك جال على بعض المباني والمحال التي يتم تحسينها في المحلة.
وفي كلمة له أمام المتطوعين سبقها ترحيب من السيد حمتو قال المهندس السعودي :
ان رحلة الخمس سنوات من العمل في منطقة التعمير بصيدا قد بدأت، بعد ان نالت رعاية نواب المدينة وكل الفعليات السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والروحية والثقافية والامنية، كما نالت مباركة تجمع المؤسسات الأهلية في صيدا.
بدأ العمل لان منطقة التعمير تعنينا كما تعني الاخرين وتحظى باهتمامنا واهتمام الجميع، لاننا نسعى لاعادة ترميم المباني، وتأهيل الملاجىء، وتعميم إنارة الشوارع، وتنظيم مواقع مستوعبات النفايات وغيرها من مطالب أهلنا في المنطقة.
الشكر كل الشكر لليونيسيف لتجاوبها في تصحيح خط شبكة الصرف الصحي، وتأمين مضخات للملاجىء، وفرص عمل لعدد من الشباب والشابات.
كما نشكر برنامج الامم المتحدة الإنمائي الذي انار قسما من منطقة التعمير الواقع في منطقة المية ومية العقارية، ونأمل من مسؤوليه إكمال إنارة منطقة التعمير التحتاني.
كما نأمل أن تكمل منظمة اليونيسيف تصحيح شبكات الصرف الصحي في مختلف شوارع التعمير. وان نتعاون مع مؤسسة مياه لبنان الجنوبي من اجل حل مشكلات المياه في منطقة عين الحلوة.
ان هذه المشاريع والانجازات لا يمكن ان تتحقق بدون الجهد الكبير الذي تقوم به جمعية التنمية للانسان والبيئة ومجموع المتطوعين الحاضرين لخدمة اهالينا، فشكرا للجميع وبخاصة للقيمين على الجمعية وشكرا لكم جهاز المتطوعين فيها.
