Overall Objective

To provide 275 most vulnerable Syrian refugees households in North, Mount, South Lebanon, and Nabatieh areas with immediate life-saving needs of WASH to mitigate against their increased risk as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and socio-economic situation mainly through latrines constructions and disinfection kits distribution

Specific Objective

Activity 1.1.1

Assessment and identification of 275 sites in need of latrine using specific vulnerability criteria: PWSN, elderly people, people with medical conditions are a priority along with those whose needs will be increasingly difficult to meet due to the enhanced and prolonged isolation measures. The assessment and identification will take place through door to door visits and through referrals received by the team. Data will be input on PAIS by the team

Activity 1.1.2

Finalizing procurement process (identification of vendor based on a competitive procurement process) – As per DPNA procurement policy, the first step is to issue a request for a quotation with a detailed description of the requested items. We send these documents to 3 to 4 contractors that are on our list of suppliers. Then, we receive the offers via email or directly to the office. To take the decision procurement is assisted by the executive director and the 2 of the board members. Once it is decided on the best offer according to the criteria set ( quality, cost, and duration, sign the bidding template). DPNA contacts the winner and then signs the working contract

Activity 1.1.3

Construction of 275 latrines with hand-washing stations including a holding and a domestic tank for at-risk profiles of Syrian refugees in ISs and collective shelters. HHs will be identified based on the criteria set in the assessment and identification activity, covering only ISs under DPNA areas of intervention. The latrines will be adapted to PWSN and elderlies: including parallel bars, toilet seats, slope/access to the facility, larger size of latrine (allowing for rotation in a wheelchair, movements)

Activity 1.1.4

Distribution of disinfection kits (2 kits per constructed latrines, a total of 550 kits). The kits will be distributed through the project implementation process by the project's team and volunteers
